I got one from the local wenta/princes trust business centre through a scheme they had with the council
Doubt it is still around now
Maybe google local council small business grant and see but don't put your hopes on it

The easy way in boarcity lol
All it did was paid for new ladders and some trad gear heehee
Anyone can do that but not everyone is cut out for the hard part of getting the customers and doing the work

Not that it matters, because it's no use to me, (although it might be relevant to someone else) but I don't really understand the point of these grants.

Someone who's trying to start a business from scratch, with no money, needs more than a few hundred quid to cover the cost of ladders and some trad gear don't they?

I think it is just a way the council can be seen to be doing their bit to reduce the unemployment figures
More people self employed the more chance of them employing etc
Just a token gesture but makes them look.good i suppose

I only got it because a mate works there and she phoned me to tell me to do it
If someone wants to give me 750 squid it is not gonna be turned down
