Getting the tank ready for the winter

Any idea how to stop my tank freezing up and the hoses connected to it in the winter ?

Oil filled radiator overnight and as soon as you start pulling hoses out in the morning have your pole connected and water flowing.

Yep, only need a small radiator fittywith a thermostat. Around £20 in Range.

I also lob a couple of aquatic heaters in the tank ?

Unfortunately I don’t have access to the mains. Can you buy a battery powered heater or a cordless oil heater?

If you have no power the only real options are to empty the reel and drain the pump, Chuck a duvet over everything, insulate the van walls, or plumb in a thermostat so the pump circulates water around your system when the temperature drops below 5 degrees. If you try and power anything from your 12v system battery you run the risk of having a dead battery first thing in the morning.
