Went hoseless Friday,but didn't find it as liberating as I thought.I think the reason is because my 8mm hose is old,and it felt a bit clumpy in use,i don't have a hot water syst, so this time of year prob bad to experiment,the hose being less manageable,i missed the lightness of pole hose.Ive only been WFP 16 months(but many years trad).

I changed my pole hose about 12mths ago for Gdnrs allseason, mine was knackerd (the reinforced stuff0,but was surprised when it grew in diameter with use.When the cold weather started I knew I would have to replace it,again  suppose this is normal,which leaves me to think, 8 and 6 prob loose their supplety over time,am I right?If so how long do you,use em for please.The 6mm is the lightest I know,but will, I still want the lightness of the 5mm,,Some of you use a lenth of 5 after yr 6 or 8 maybe I,ll try that, although the 6 looks neater.For those of u who do use a lenth of 5mm,can u recommend a coupling please.Dont want to be back to square one,getting caught all over the place.

Still, the curtains did move abit.Ooh look dear,the window cleaners Gone Hosless !!!

I have 8mm microbore (2 years old soon) which holds up just fine. And lite 5 6mm pole hose which lasts about a year for me.

For a coupling between the two I use a 6mm metal type, crimp it on and encase in thermoplastic.

And on the end just a ez snap female to the hoseless male coupling.

But honestly, just buy something and try it out. It's part of the fun to find what you like the best.

lovely thanks mate, but how do I do a thermos couple please

I went tubeless last week on the advice of @Den. He gave me loads of advice on this thread;

I also watched a video on YouTube from @Green Pro Clean Ltd. I didn't follow the advice of either to the letter but they were good guides. I installed EZ Snap (Rectus 21) on the end of a short piece of 5mm black pole hose from the window cleaning warehouse. I only use Microbore 6mm hose in general so that goes straight up the pole anyway.

I found this and the installation of a UniValve has decreased clean times nicely. I find the pole hose gets stuck inside the pole sometimes but this is no more of an issue than having to reach down and turn a tap on and off. It takes some getting used to, at first for example I wasn't pulling the extra hose required round with me which became an issue. I also use a BigBoy backpack, I have adapters for this to use the EZ Snap connections but obviously this would only work on the ground floor with my new pole hose so I will be making a work around. I didn't think about this issue until I was at the customers property yesterday but thankfully I brought my old pole hose so I just switched over for that job.

I find it so much easier not having the pole hose dragging on the floor and no Protectabolz to worry about. Stick with it man!
