Just thought I'd share a find tonght - Vizmo GPS mileage tracker will allow you to automatically record your mileage if claiming at a flat rate. It also allows you to log time at home if claiming business use of your house when doing admin etc.

I've got an excel spreadsheet made up with formulas in it so that each day you fill in details of where you went, what the mileage was at the start of the journey and at the end and total miles driven. There's also a cell where you enter the flat rate for expenses (£0.45 per mile for the first 10,000, then 0.25 thereafter)

It then gives you a running total of how much you can claim back.

I can email it to anyone interested?

Why not just use the MOT on your van? It records mileage annually, either that or just put every penny through like I do, a dedicated work vehicle makes life so much easier - I keep a box file and put every receipt for my truck in there no matter what it's for.
