Had my first breakage today, I was cleaning a front door and stepped back and knocked over a small clay pig shaped pot, I was gutted because it's the first thing I've broken on a job. The lady was fine about it, I offered to pay but she just laughed and said don't be silly.
What have you lot broken whilst working?

I broke a gate last month.

I pushed it cause it's a stiff one and when I gave it a real good shove the bottom half snapped open and the gate was practically not one thick gate but two thin ones.

I offered to pay for it but the customer said no don't worry about it so I said I wouldn't charge them that clean which they seemed really happy with.

Saved myself a couple of hundred quid having nice customers. lol

    (I am insured as well)

I busted loads of things but the funniest is my Dad, he was cleaning inside a conservatory and turned a knocked over a lamp and it shattered on the floor. He told the customer straight away and said he would replace it. She just laugh and said you wont find another, her husband made it as a prototype and it was the only one in existent. My dad felt real bad and offered to do the clean for free. She said no I pay you a bonus for breaking the lamp as I never liked in the first place and never had the heart to tell her husband.
I broke wind once when up a ladder just as the customer came out the front door to pay me
