Hi all

I have a 21lpm machine with a 20" flat surface cleaner which came with 25° nozzles. These have been fine on slabs and block paving but seem harsh on tarmac. Ive got a few tarmac drives booked in now so I ordered some 40° nozzles for the flat surface cleaner to help on the tarmac cleans. My new nozzles arrived today but not sure the size is correct, the ones supplied to me are 4030 the actual hole is massive must be 10 times the size of the one on the 25° nozzles.

What size 40° nozzle should I be looking at for a 250 bar 21lpm machine and flat surface cleaner?

Many thanks 😊

Tarmac is a completely different substrate concrete and pressure washing it is a completely different ball game and technique which many amateurs and home owners mess up with super swirling which can be hard to remove as the high pressure etches / cuts into the surface

Don't rev the nuts off on the engine and wind back the unloader so you are reducing pressure same volume of water but less output pressure and work in a figure of eight as opposed to straight line walking

I've never changed nozzles and know how to work the engine and unloader in perfect harmony

Thanks for the input mate appreciate it 👍 im aware it's tricky and easily damaged that why I thought the 40° nozzles would help. So you'd stick with the 25° nozzles and just drop the pressure on the machine?

I've never had any need to change mine. Yes knock the pressure off. Unlike concrete tarmac is rough and uneven so you are really rinsing out the captured dirt Vs high pressure blasting the hell out of the surface
