High pressure couplings

Hi all. Just got some new 3/8 quick connect female and the male counter parts as I've added a dn10 valve to my pressure washer and quick release for the surface cleaner however I find that when I'm tightening up the couplings they only turn a few turns and still have a lot of thread visible. They are tight and the right size but is this normal?

Yes if it’s tight and you have put some PTFE tape on it it won’t leak I think they are usually tapered thread as well

Yeah used PTFE tape. Tried them out today no leaks etc all looking good. Thanks
