How many start and then quit?

    a thread about cars got me thinking. in the 6 yrs iv been a windie i reckon iv seen DOZENS who started about the same time but have quit . some had sign written vans really smart ,website the lot Most in family saloon cars but then you suddenly dont see them
    why do they quit ? after a year or under

    My guess would be that allot of people don't know what graft needs to be put into window cleaning untill they do it themselves, and also winters could be an issue, rewards come to those who graft for it.

    i remember before i started i saw this windie in a gleaming Escort van, smiling broadly as he drove by . i thought to myself ,i want some of that, happy in his work, yeh why not be a windie

    maybe it was his last day thats why smiling as iv never seen him since !

    I think people assume it's an easy job
    give em 1 winter trying to squeegee a window while water is starting to freeze and they don't think it is such an easy ride
    also canvassing can get you down if not used to all the rejections
    "Chin up and muddle on and you'll be ok"

    he he great post boar..if i ever get talking to other tradesmen....they inevitably say....i used to clean windows...

    i think a lot start out and think this is great....especially on a nice spring day ..but then comes the november gloom and they think what the....

    me i love the changing seasons..the constant challenges that come my way...and look forward to getting straight with my work...each week of late i have said to the wife should be straight this week.....:Dstill saying it...

    i spose some came from the building trade and now thats on the way up again back theyv gone to it.

    I gave up after 8 years for a management job for a friend.6 years later and 3 stone heavier I thought why am I sitting in an office getting fat when I could be outside getting fit

    you hate it when you are doing it but miss it when you stop

    Maybe 1 thing that stops so much of that up here is having to apply for a license.
