Hi I am looking for advice on the best place to get info on starting my own business.

I haven't got a clue about Book keeping, vat, tax, national insurance as I have always been employed by a company. Anyone got any good websites, books or advice as where to start?

    Thanks

I'm not sure where your from but here in northern Ireland there is a free business start up course, it's only for like 3 days and they go through everything, can help you do business plans for loans etc, also help getting grants. There is also alot of info on inland revenue website, have you registered self employed?

From a business point of view, the HMRC do a course that you can attend for free & tells you all about tax etc, I found it very helpful when newly self employed. My sister in law told me they do it online now, but you can still ask questions etc.
