    I bought back two of my own cars from my insurance company before as it costs them less to get rid of them that way I guess.

    cheers smurf just looking for a cheap way to get a van :D i have found a website that have insurance write offs and they are going for next to nothing

    so Smurf what did you need to do once the car was repaired to get it back on the road? a mot ?

    This was years ago and I did not need to do anything as at both times was minor damage to the bodywork so both cars were road legal & driveable.

    If you go best take someone with you that is in the repair trade to advise you or you may come a big cropper

    dont ever buy a write off thats been hit at the front end. no matter how lightly. itll never drive straight

    rear end ding or hit on the side scrapes are generally ok
