Looking at switching to wfp. The osmo compact machines at window cleaning warehouse look good value but does anyone know the what the difference is with the more expensive HydroPower and is it worth it?

There are several types of hydro power systems. Send us links to the systems you are considering and we can have a look.

Personally I don't think you can beat the water-tank-in-van setups for ease of use, speed and cost. A friend of mine has a small have DI only unger hydropower, and it has to be connected to a faucet to be used. Way too much hassle I think, but he makes it work on the customers he can and uses the ladder elsewhere.

The resin is probably also overpriced because it comes in a special bag. Silly.

hydro power is a special di vessel, supposedly for more efficient resin use.

If you are filling with pure water you won't need it. but if you are DI only or use one to "polish" the water as you use it you will.

Thanks for your replies guys, really helpful. I'm in a soft water area so know the DI is ok. Just wasn't sure if I was being sold unnecessary extras with the HydroPower.

I would suggest you grab a TDS Meter, even just a cheap knock off one from eBay for now. Get an idea of what TDS you actually have. Take a few readings over a few days as the TDS can fluctuate. Just believing you are in a soft water area is the quickest way to end up spending £75 a week on resin.

Thanks P4dstar not even any supplier has suggested that but really good idea [emoji106]
I often wonder if suppliers are more likely to lead you down the DI route so they can make more from you long term selling you resin... perhaps I’m too much of a conspiracy theorist but I remember one supplier telling me 175 TDS was good for a DI only.
