I had a costumer today saying that I had blew the seals on her windows with my water fed pole she said the pressure of the water had done this is this possible and as any one else been accused of this thanks

yes Im not the one to ask as I only have a toy wfp backpack and I always have it on min anyway...but...

pressure washers can do that if you use them wrong..

but you would have to really wack up the pressure on a wfp and combine it with **** seals...and aim it at the seal...and be bloomin unlucky..

some windows do leak though..as I have read on here ...tenchy has some...

some custys will try to blame us for absolutely anything ...you have to watch your back with some of them..

but as I said the experts will be on soon../emoticons/biggrin.png

I'm gonna syg absolutely no way is it powerful enough to do that,

Even at full wack, there really isn't much pressure!

But if they were really week seals and you had the flow on full wack I suppose it's possible - but I'm 99% sure it's impossible  - make sense of that and I'll give you a fiver o_Oo_O:rofl:

Even a 100psi pump won't be delivering 100psi at the brush head as its split between two jets, and also the pump isn't there for pressure anyway, it's there for flow rate...

My guess would be the pressure coming out of 1 pencil jet with pump at full wack would be about 40psi.... That is a total guess though!

@paul austin wfp pole on full wheck wouldnt wreck seals

what does she say she wants u to do ?? replace ? is it a new customer

also if she loooking replacements ring a specialist in window fitting or replacement and get them out to determin how old the windows are as seals will be fecked after 20 years no matter what

No way. She's chancing her arm and hoping for a freebie. A few seals have gone on my windows but that's just age related. Hmm ... I might employ a cleaner and blame him lol. Great idea.

Whilst on the subject, who can I call to replace my seals please ? They are sandwiched extremely tightly between the frame and double glazing unit. Tried a Stanley knife but can only score the very top of the seal. They need replacing properly really. I'm thinking a local window fitting firm but they can be unhelpful if they didn't fit them in the first place

Do it yourself mate, its very easy. Top tip though, cut them just a bit longer then what you think as they contract/shrink after a few days.

You'll find the answer in your WFP guidebook under 'troubleshooting'. ...1) Blame the previous trad cleaner.

My advice is to read and learn the every scrap of information here;

http://www.thewindowman.co.uk/misted-up.htm

http://www.thewindowman.co.uk/misty-wood.htm

http://www.thewindowman.co.uk/misty-upvc-ali.htm

Some of the paragraphs are repeated under the different sections, but if you give a quick response when this is thrown at you then it will give you less hassle later on.

Of course, when this happens customers accuse you of causing the problem. They are finding you guilty without proving it. Its their duty to prove that you have damaged their windows, not for you to prove you haven't. Ignore them.

If one has blown, why haven't all the others? Why is it the windows at fault are mostly south facing windows? Why are top openers and large panes of glass usually the first to go?

I would stop cleaning them immediately and not return - they are trouble.

Anyone who does double glazing repairs. There are several business' in our area - in adverts they replace misted units. A window manufacturer wants to replace the complete window c/w with frame so isn't the right company to call.

There are a lot of businesses that have sprung up claiming to repair your existing units at 1/2" the price of a replacement window. Long term it isn't a good solution as the problem usually returns shortly after.

Are they dg units in plastic or other type of frames with or without vents?

What was she saying exactly like water was coming inside the house or the dg units had misted up?
