Had a phone call today from one of my Customers saying her friend and her son want a Windy so she gave me the Ladies phone number so before work today I rang.

Me: "Hello Elaine Ann gave me your number said you and your Son are looking for a Windy can you tell me where you live"?

Her: "Yes 23 ............Drive and my sons is 2 doors away, but there's also a 3rd person who is interested and she has a Conservatory. Our previous Windy who is rubbish (incidentally who I know is rubbish) hasn't turned up for 9 Months".

I was almost rubbing my hands with Glee as I have already got 3 jobs in that Road. So just through Curiosity I checked them out on Google Maps and what I was about to find out was very interesting.

Funnily enough I mentioned this Road in another thread today on canvassing this is where I knocked doors 5 Years ago picked up 10 jobs and lost 9. But as I was looking at Her House something clicked I recognised the House 2 doors away, now she said her Son lived 2 doors away, but obviously that could be 2 doors either side but on further examination I was able to dismiss the House on the left as I used to do that and it was an Old Couple, now the House on the right a bloke lived there he used to leave the money in the Porch for the front £10 but 5 years ago he never paid me for the last time and despite numerous text reminders from me he ignored them.

One day I was working on the old Couples House 2 doors the other Side when I saw a Lady sweeping leaves off the Drive so I approached Her and asked her when would I be likely to catch her son as he owed me money (foolishly hoping she would pay me) she replied oh he's working in a Shop up the Road he'll be there all day I popped up after work he wasn't there?

Beats me why they mess good workers about they end up with a Clown Window Cleaner who I know is cr@p because he did some work for me before I sacked him, was ladders then he used to leave soap all over the windows and cleans bottoms first then tops, don't really want to lose the other 2 so how do I approach this when I quote in the morning?:eek::eek:

Customers never learn. Very few messers become good customers.

I would tell them straight out that they were customers at one time and that, as the business arrangement broke down due to non payment, you won't be quoting to clean them again.

Over the years we've seen messers find another windie and mess them around as well. The cycle has been repeated over a number of windies who have all experience the same thing.

I've had bad ex customers come back to me years after I've dumped them because they've pulled the same trick on my replacement.

It gives me a warm glow when I coldly decline them [emoji48]
