I have an oil filled radiator like this one: http://www.screwfix.com/p/7-fin-oil-filled-radiator-1-5kw-240v/92239;jsessionId=RFpxQQGDQTT4gVxdXwCFv5Gzz6QhdNJ1vQy51fYGKpF4jpzYT01f!-1384591800!1354810531781

But it doesn't have a thermostat, just 2 heat settings.

Would it be safe to have this in the van over night? I'd run it from my house.

Not sure how hot it gets or what so not sure if there are any safety things I need to look out for??

Been covered many many times. Oil filled rads seem to be the safest option. I've used one in my van overnight for the last 3 winters without a problem ;)
