Been waiting for this day since I started out lol.
Looks like the gearbox/clutch has packed in.

4 hour wait apparently for a tow truck as my van doesn't have a towing eye.

Don't know what to do really the nearest gearbox specialist cant look at it whist monday so going to have to get towed home.

looks like I will have to use the car and some barrels?

Half a mind to buy another cheap van as I don't reckon a it'll be cheap.

Happens all vans. I have a mechanic I trust and don't doubt.

Wen mine went last year. I dumped a full tank of water at 10 and towed up to him. By 7 that noght I had van home with clutch gearbox and flywheel replaced.

Ok, seems that one i rang was OTT. On europcar i can get a caddy for £100 for the week or a vivaro for £140
Thats not too bad, if i was a 200 quid a day guy i would be happy with that unfortunately im not but i dont want to let these 1st cleans down so may have to hire one if i cant fins a cheap van at the weekend

The caddy is only £20 a day, surely you can right off £20 a day to get the new jobs done.

yes mate i was refering to the original quote of 380

Im all sorted now ive just picked up a hire van for the week, my van is being towed to the garage on sunday so will see what the damage is.

I ordered a swb transit and ended up with a LWB high roof fiat ducato as thats all they had left, its HUGE lol but cant complain at £115 for 7 days

@peter rogers my van is a 57 plate but otherwise has been great so im hoping i can get it sorted for not too much money

My van broke down 1st week in December and I have a fully futted PureFreedom system for all my filtering and then double pump system.

I've ONLY JUST managed to get going again, as buying a van and then having equipment taken out abd transferred is hell on earth when everywhere is shut.

Regardless, I've bought a new van and got a trolley system in place as it's easiest to sort and cheaper and takes the least commitment while you plan what you'll do long term.

sory to here about ur gear box issue mine went last year lucky it was 2 weeks warnty left so i dident have to pay but van was off road for 3 weeks cos it was at main stealers i used a car wich was a nite mare would have cost me 1k ish mine was a vivaro my cluch is on its way out now so that will need doing this year maby in march ill get it done

Not always mate my local garage are great at most general things but rebuilding gearboxes isn't something they can do.

Van should be fixed for Monday.

No gearbox oil was the issue, seals had blow out and the gearbox internals reduced to metal filings, clutch was shot too and gear linkage was falling apart.

Recon gear box, new clutch and new linkage. £740 all in. Not happy but less than I expected I wasn't expecting any change from a grand
