Just a quick one...which is best silicone or lube to maintain my slx, and how often to apply.

Gardiners sell a dry silicone spray. I use it on my pole monthly.

Dry PTFE spray is the recommended type. 

It's more important to flush out debree than lube it, really. I do believe Gardiners have a recommendation in their pole maintenance sheet, but can't recall it.
