Shurflo water pump

Hi all, just set me system up in van and when im on a job and turn the valve to stop the water coming out from the pole the pump will stop ! Is this ok for the pump ? Does it do it with all water flow controllers set up with it.. cheers

What controller are you using?

Both the Spring controllers and the Varistream controllers are designed to switch the pump off when you cut the flow. This will not damage the pump. One of our Shurflo pumps is 12 years old and the other is 10 years old and both have been used with Varistream controllers.

There are some cheap PWM controllers being sold on Ebay that don't have dead ending electronics. They rely on the pump's pressure switch to cut the power once the pressure builds up in the pipe after you have switched off the tap.

The write up says that it works with any pump that has its inbuilt pressure switch. "Works with any pressure switched pump."

So as long as your pressure switch works the unit will work.
