Putting a tap on my pole, bit of help?

WCF

Help Support WCF:

I would cut the orange hose just a couple of inches longer than you need to connect to the tap

Put the remaining orange hose in place of that clear stuff which isn't very good hose

Then that connects to your reel like normal

Those clips go round the hose where the connector goes in and then using mole grips or big plumbers adjustables squash the ends to make it tight

Not a quality pic but this is what i mean

Only use 1 on each connection though this came with 2 on

Thx.

How far from the bottom of the pole should I put the tap?

I changed the nuts for jubilee clips, so I can take them off when needed.

Anyone got a picture?

If you use jubilee clips on the pipes you may need to wrap a little ptfe tape around the tails before you stick the hoses on them to seal it as i find jubilee clips don't grip it the same all the way round like o rings do and usually get a little leak in 1 spot each time where the 2 bits of the clip meet

That looks like one heck of a nuisance, what happens when the pole is collapsed? Is the Tap then miles away from you?

Or is it stuck to the pole?

Surely an aquadaptor or similar would be much better?

It works..i tried it but don't use it anymore due to the big loop of pole hose to catch on everything

From the first picture, should I just connect the orange hose to the barb which doesn't have the clear hose on it ?

Should I use this device or just connect a tap to pole hose and have it hanging loose not attached to the pole?

i put the gardiner tap at top off pole next to brush

tap dos,int get battered to bits dragging along the ground

another tip if you struggle getting the o clipstight I use cable ties works well and so easy to use

Before I used the AquaTap and no pole hose. I fixed my Tap like this. You can adjust it up the pole if you want and remove easily too. Clips and grips onto the pole.

Great stuff that wickes 40mm pipe

If I put the tap on the bottom of the pole, how far from the very bottom should I strap it on? 20 cm from bottom? Anyone got a picture ?

I put mine at top as I was sick of dragging it around, catching it on walls gaps etc and having to bend over to pick it up too!!

Here's a pic of it first set up a long time ago but now I have it a tad bit shorter so it doesn't stick out as much and it compliments my diy hoseless pole a treat so when I disconnect the pole hose and reel it all in with my powerup reel I only have the female rectus to catch anything and that never does!!

Thanks for all that. So if I put tap on the bottom- the loop will get caught on stuff- is this the general consensus- so put it near brush is better idea so it doesn't catch? But how about just gaffer taping the loop on the bottom of the hose; just leave the tap itself exposed, that way it won't catch on anything, surely?

Also, anyone know the link for those rubber ball protectors which stop the u from smashing the cr**p out of your connectors etc?

I used to have a tap & set up similar to yours.its a nuisance.each to there own.you could buy an aqua tap(£15) that you could simply screw on the end of your pole & away you go.no loop no meesing about!!!
