Hi guys, I've just used a hair dryer on a small bit of my van graphics, which I want to remove, as I'm selling the van. I'm left with the glue on the paintwork. Can anyone recommend something to remove the glue. TIA

Cheap basic tesco hairdryer and your wife's debit card

Any residue can be removed with sticky stuff remover

Apply an even amount of heat to the vinyl until it softens and peel off

Cheers APW? As always, a wealth of knowledge ??
I'll always try and offer genuine trusted advice to those who need it.

Top tip,

Do not try and unpick any vinyl until you've warmed it, even distance passes over an approximate 6 inches at a time then slow try and pick up a corner or letter and peel with the aid of the heat over the area.

Try to avoid using anything other than your fingers to reduce scratches, swirling and burnishing.

If it's a van like a 55 plate transit and it's white paint with no gloss shine to it you may notice sun bleaching where the decals were.

A soft lint free stockinette cloth and T Cut will help revive the panels but it takes elbow grease and try and avoid getting any on the seals plastic work or handles because it's hard to get the milky white pigment of the area

I thought a hairdryer was a bit on the slow side so I used a heat gun and managed to get the paint off aswell. ?
I personally use a bosch hot air gun however those unfamiliar with the intensity of the heat will burn the panel and possibly blister the paint.

I know that the 3M matt sign vinyl i use to make all my own decals has a melting / shrivel point of 192 degrees
