First step my friend, get yourself a TDS meter to test your tap waters PPM (parts per million)

This will dictate whether or not you can get away with just using a Di vessel to purify your water.

If your PPM is high (200ppm+ maybe) then you'll need to use a RO + Di vessel combo in order to get your water down to 000PPM.

Some people will even suggest to use a RO and Di vessel regardless of you waters PPM as it can potentially save you money on resin (which goes into the Di)

A downside to a RO unit though, is the waste water is produces. Those on a water meter may not prefer this route due to their water costs etc.

If your just starting out though, then your pure water production may not be that high at first anyway.

Welcome to WCF and good luck! ;)

    Mike

Is there no one on the forum that lives near you that can at least give you an idea?
