Which one do you lot recommend? These look ok and not a bad price direct from Rhino Here
Got some for £30 off amazon and they do me fine.
i got some for 30 aswell from argos and use them once to transport some ladders i had given me. dunno why i bothered getting them to be honest as i never use ladders but coz they were free i grabbed them.
I've always had cheap ones £30-£50 but now I've got a van and spent £160 on them and I love them, feel so much safer having ladders on. I wouldn't go back to cheap ones again... I had some once where the wind blew off the ladder inc the roof bars, wasn't good going down the duel carriage way.
I have rhino roof rack http://www.rhinoroofracksdirect.co.uk/-Rhino-Aerodynamic-Modular-Roof-Rack-R506.html with the roll bar a great roof rack but it has started to go rusty a bit and the rust runs down the van I need to get some hammerite soon
Thule roof bars seem ok as was already fitted on a used berlingo van I brought.
I carry a conservatory ladder, step ladder and 12 rung combi triple ladder on those roof bars without any issues.
A quick word... when ordering make sure the make and model of your vehicle hasn't changed that year.. Or you end up using a ladder to get your ladders off...
same as Toby have lost ladders off vehicles so just buy the trade racks 8x4 with rollers can carry all sorts safely £200 roughly usually galvanised so dont rust and don't bend with ladder clamps fitted carry as many ladders as required but its a big outlay
Bungees are not a good idea in my experience. Many a time have I had to drive with my arm out the window holding onto the ladders on a windy day haha
i used them dog leads from poundland, couple of them did the job for me.
