Do people here charge more for roof work on tiles etc.

Roof work in my opinion heightens the risk of injury or damage resulting in a claim.

Therefore even though I am careful and in ten years have never broken a tile, I charge more for roofs as no matter how careful you are, the potential of an accident is heightened and therefore costs must be increased.

What are everyones thoughts on this?

I would absolutely if I did that but don't, used to do labouring for a roofer when was young and had a very very lucky escape and been weary of heights ever since and only just gotten over it now I'm up ladder all time. Still won't get on a roof though lol.

Yep always charge more if I gotta get on a roof. If they ask why so dear I tell them. If they say no can you come down on price I always say no. If I don't get the job then not to bothered. I always charge extra what I would pay for a slate or tile.

I wont climb on a roof as such , hence why i have invested in a wfp kit .

if i broke a tile id just silicone it back together ha ha .
no seriously i only climb on one canopy and that was only for the first clean .

I used to hate heights at one time even on the height of a house , but when i was younger we used to scale buildings etc and run across factory roofs
never bothered me one bit but all of a sudden i had a terrible fear of heights .

Dont know why maybe its got something to do with my mate jumping from a factory roof on a building site from about 50ft into a pile of insulation
    and breaking both legs ????

Depending on the thickness of the slates, and the steepness whether I would get on.. But now I'm wfp I won't be taking any risks. I didn't charge anymore for the roofs I did get on.

Yeah there is allot of factors involved before I would even get on one in the first place, but allot of the time, we just rack the ladders against the facia, then use a small trad extension pole to clean it or from standing if we can. We don't charge extra for this, however it can take a little more time than normal so I could see the justification for added a bit on top for doing it, pardon the pun :D .
