Hello all,

Sorry if this question has been answered many times before.

Im in the process of invoicing a commercial customer for a window cleaning job I done for them.

Thanks

Im a sole trader, and only stared doing commerial businesses.

Say for arguments sake my invoice was for £100

Do they take 20% of the price for thier VAT or do they pay me in full..and I pay the vat at the end of the tax year..

Do I charge it NET OR GROSS..

P.s im not registered for VAT..as im no were near the threshold

Hello no longer a user.

No mate im not charging them VAT.

Im billing them at a price say £100 for instance.

No mention of VAT.

Do they pay me the £100

Or do they take thier 20% off and pay me £80

Its a mind field out there lol

Just state on your invoice VAT N/A

Example:

Window clean £100

Sub total £100

VAT N/A

Total Due £100

Anyhow by law if vat registered you have to also include a vat number on every invoice so not seeing it they will understand you are not vat registered.
