I'd personally do a test patch clean using cemitone brick acid / driveway cleaner or diluted SH

Sodium hypochlorite won’t remove rust stains
I wouldn't use acid either - get a specialist product designed for use on stone and removing rust. I have got 1 which is pretty good and I'll check it's name later and add it

If anything it will make them worse as it rusts metal.

Oxalic acid is just the job for that.

Brick acid is strong stuff but oxalic is safer and good for the purpose of removing rust from things including lead stains etc from softwashing.

People are scared of the word acid but oxalic acid is actually present in leafy green veg and legumes and rhubarb etc.

Not the greatest for your body but also not a strong dangerous acid like hydrochloric (brick acid)
