Ideas for clabber hose reel

Hi guys i have clabber light weight reel. Only issue is it spins to freely. Pulling hose off always results in baggy loops on the remainder of hose on the reel, right pain. 

Anyone got any suggestions on how to put a bit of resistance against it.

Don't yank it, A slow controlled pull will prevent the issue

I do put it slowly mate otherewise it really spirals off. Usually longer runs it starts to unravel as i have less control from further away.

Cable tie an old microfibre round the top bar at 1 side so the drum touches it

The reel drags on that and slows it down

Thinking of geting a claber, as big metal reel. Feels like a ton n seems to be too aticky when pulling hose out, felt like im doing the tug o war.

Try putting a few drops of 3 in1 oil on the bushes of your metal hose reel. Ours are fine and still going. mine is over 10 years old and sons nearly 9 years old. They are worn but still do the job.
