Tank frame help

Hi.. My mate is going to weld a tank frame together for me. The plan is to use 50mm angle iron that's 3mm thick. Is this about right? Who's had one welded and what size and thickness of steel did you use?

you can get a rough idea on how they are put together and designed having a look at van mounts being flogged on fleebay etc and or images on google search
