Hi all questions in the thread title. Just starting out with my water reading around 120 TDS. Do I need RO or would I get away with just a DI system. Many thanks.

I would ask the question how much water do you use and how much do you intend to use. If you're growing a business and have large plans then investing in a 4040 RO is a long term strategy that will pay dividends in the end. If you're a part time window cleaner who works 2-3 days a week and intend to stay that way then you could potentially live on a double RO system. Even then a basic RO would pay for itself in the end.

Other things to factor in, do you have storage space or would you be purifying directly to your tank. That can be a PITA if you ever run out of water during the day. Then again it can be helpful as you might be able to fill up at customers properties, if you're there for a while (and they don't mind) you can plug in.

You definitely need a ro you now need to get a pressure gauge on your out side tap and check flow rate then you can choose a ro that’s suitable no good getting a 4040 if you have poor flow and pressure . You will burn through loads of resin using di or double di setup you have options
4040
4021
450gpd
I’ve got not grate water pressure and flow so opted for 1200 gpd ro with booster pump
