ok i bought some ladder limpets off ebay a while ago but i just still didnt feel safe using them, think its in my mind more than anything but when your body tells you not to go any higher you dont do you. im thinking bout one of these items in the links below, what would be the safest to stop the ladders actually falling away??

reason im asking is, im getting lots of gutter cleaning jobs and there good paying jobs to have. cant turn them away.

Ladder Mitts are good. I hate ladders, but aye sometimes they must be used. Making sure the angle of the ladder is correct is a critical safety tip, too steep and it can topple backwards, too flat and it can slide out from under you. Generally 1 unit 'out' for every 4 units 'up' is the rule of thumb I think. Try not to put it on anything slidey, and use ladder mitts - they cost £15 and stop the ladder sliding side to side and stop it marking walls. Other than that don't over-reach, basically make sure your belt buckle stays between the edges of the ladder and you should be fine. Be very wary of any wet wood, slippery wood, any slippery concrete, anything green, etc. Go slowly and take your time and be safe!

thanks kips, but which of the links would you buy if you needed safety. im going to sell my ladder limpet things because its more paranoya more than anything, with one of these safety things above id have piece of mind and feel safe.

Ist link is a used ankalad just with the stabaliser legs spread apart more which is not how it is intended to be used. May I point out if you have not noticed already the tubes of the stabalisers look rather bent to me so would keep well away from that one.

2nd link is a cheaper copy of the ankalad which I have never used so can't comment what they are like.
