Micro bore butterfly tap screw lost

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Some motor factors will have a box of assorted machine screws.

I would just buy another tap tbh. Its just not worth the messing on.

I have had them come off in the past

If i buy one first thing i do is unscrew it and srcew it back up with 1 spot of superglue on the threads

Enough to stop it loosening but can always remove it with a spanner if needed

Superglue is a good idea.

I used blue Nutlock. It a thread locking sealer used by motor mechanics, but only because I have it in my toolbox. It also comes in red but that's for bolts that never have to be undone in the future.

Best solution is a Univalve.

I gave up with the univalve as i keep breaking them lol

I'm a bit heavy handed

The one I have on mine is a standard M4 thread. Have a poke around in your local hardware store and pick out what you need - I kept losing mine and have just replaced it with a longer Philips head screw, it now loosens to the point that the lever won't turn but the screw stays in - really must get round to putting some thread lock on!!!
