Traditional window cleaning on hot day

Question for the traditional window cleaners pros, normally I used water fed pole method but downstairs windows I normally do traditional method to save water.

Whats the best way to clean a window on a really really hot day like the last few days, I am finding even doing one window at a time the top is drying but the time I finish the bottom...

What the water drys too fast?

If that's the case just work a bit quicker? I usually wet the window up and the just beifre I blade it I go over the top part with the applkvator again...

The recipe is good tehnic and speed. Try to learn the two handed method were your blade is going behind yhe mop alway down the window, takes some practice but is very useful.

Also a very soaking mop is a must

On large downstairs windows I usually soap it all up then use the old two handed technique with squeegee following applicator as I fan down the window. Don't do this up the ladder though for obvious reasons!

Thanks, guys I can do the two handed technique almost but not great, but I sometimes get marks from the ends of the squeegee but then I didn't know you should change the rubber really often.. until recently.. and I guess thats why?.. thats a WTP guy for you /emoticons/biggrin.png

Do a pane at a time, and have the applicator in your left hand, and squeegee in the right. This saves the time of putting the applicator back in the boab. Going two handed at the same time takes practice, and it doesn't work well on first cleans, but it works well on regular cleans if you can master it.

Also the windows with lead squares, diamond patterns on, I normally wet the window with the applicator and then use two clothes one to take most water off, then one dry to polish - is this the best method? It normaly always works for me..

I've stopped using the applicator on lead now for regular cleans. I get much better results from a spray bottle. A squirt of soap, some vinegar, and since you have access to pure then that would make an even better mix than regular water.

If doing a big window in the heat polzn bladz method with his wag on a pole works with hand tools and normal squeegee

Soap up the edges of the glass and squeegee off then soap the middle and squeegee

I have been doing that lately on big windows in full sun

About 2 minutes 30 onwards

Also a wagtail is very usefull if the ends are modded or using liquidator channel

use an applicator that holds a ton of water so you can really slosh it on . iv found these 2 hold a ton ofView attachment 4856 water

This is my hybrid wagtail liquidator (wagulator) that i use now it's so hot

Glass doesn't get time to dry but the scrubber is only good for maintenance cleans

I also sewed velcro on the scrubber as otherwise it has a tendency to fall off

to catch extra water i put 2 small hacksaw cuts in the tube of my unger Tbar . have to leave it in the bucket between jobs as it takes a while to fill up the tube. it then dribbles out when using itView attachment 4861
