Hi,

I’ve been using my controller since 7am this morning. It’s now stuck on PS and there are no air locks and hasn’t been tampered with. Been running fine the last couple of years. I’m currently at a job (luckily I’ve got a second set up in the van) and wondered if it could’ve overheated? I’ve tried auto calibrate but it doesn’t budge - just says PS.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Good morning Wezza

PS Displayed will be either the pump pressure switch activating Or an electrical issue. Also due to the heat today hoses will be soft and expand and that will affect pressure and the Pump motor will be running a lot hotter than usual. First suggestion is to check that there are no loose hose connectors and the hose is not twisted or kinked. As the hose will expand a lot more today also avoid winding the hose to tight onto a reel as the hose may not have room to expand and this can create pressure.  Also check that any pole valve or tap are not sticking partly closed. Also worth checking any pump pre filter are not blocked. Silly one but do ensure the tank breather hole is not blocked.

PS will also show if there is an electrical issue with a loose cable connections or damaged wire, Include the Fuse and Fuse holder in the check. A loose battery terminal connection would cause a problem particularly the negative terminal connection to the battery so ensure these are tight.

Out of interest what is the flow rate and Cal set to?

The reason for asking is that a combination of high flow and cal will make the controller less sensitive to Dead end when a valve is closed. Where Flow and cal are high the pump pressure switch may stop the pump rather than the controller dead ending it

Lastly Yes as we have several days of very hot conditions it is possible that the pump motor has overheated with closed doors the inside of the van could be 35c + In which case if you can leave the pump off for a while and let it cool down it could be fine again later.

Hope this helps

Have you got a poor connection

Blocked jets

Univalve fault

kinked hose reel that needs fully unwinding

have you read the V16 trouble shooting guide

Thanks just checking all of these now.

Flow rate is 40 and calibration is set to 32 via auto cal a couple of weeks ago.

Just checking everything now, thanks.

Thanks for the reply on Flow and Cal, these are fine. That would lead me to think a Blockage, Loose wiring or heat shutting the pump down. Some pumps have Thermal protection if the motor get In this case the pump shuts down to protect its self and as the pump current draw is zero the controller will show PS

I unravelled the whole 100m of hose, laid it out and disconnected my rectus fittings (reel hose to pole hose). Gave the connection a wiggle and I heard the pump kick in. Could only have been a blockage but my system is clean as a whistle. It worked for the rest of the day after that.

Thank you both for your checklists. Glad it's working again!
