This is more for soft water people:

Do you fill your tank with pure water?

    OR

Fill tank with tap water & have it pumped through DI then to pole?

    Any why?

Tap water in the tank, to the pump, then through DI to pole.

I'd have thought tap through D.I. into tank? then you only have to carry the pure water around with you to clean with? Same method as us guys using a filtering system?

Tap through di vessel then into tank, may seem like a good idea, but in practice there is a couple of problems. 1, it takes longer to fill tank through resin, which i suppose isnt a problem if you are doing it at home on your driveway, assuming you have one (i dont), the ***ht before. 2, you need to be very aware when your resin is going to turn, otherwise you could end up with a tank full of water that isnt pure!. Going through the di vessel in between pump and hose reel is the most practical and convenient way, for me anyway.

Thanks guys. At the moment I do DI into tank, then pump it out. But my pal has his set up normal water into tank, then pump then DI then out.

I think I may set my system up this way. Then you only filter the water u use, any water u throw away is tap not pure. Resin should last longer!
