Hi all i am looking around at my options for a van system. I have had a quote off pure freedom who seemed very good on phone. I don't know anything about ionics systems? And not heard great things about brodex so kind of discounting them. Any advice on your experiences would be appreciated or other systems reccomended. Cheers guys

Will your van carry 500 liters? What van is it and what is its payload? Are you going to process water into an IBC tank and transfer to the van as and when you need it or are you going to process water on-board directly into your tank?

Do you have the 'ability' to heat your van overnight when necessary?

    Hi spruce,
On the hunt for a van at moment but it will be eaither a transit/ traffic or vivaro. I would obviously check payload but think all of those would handle a 350l but would check for 500l first. The systems I'm getting quotes for are to filter on-board I have a big driveway and outdoor tap at front of house and not metred. I know a local cleaner who uses oil radiator to keep van warm so could do that I guess. Just wondering what brands anyone reccomends good or bad experiences?

On the van front any of those options will easisly hold 650 liters plus all your other gear.

With Trafic / Vivaro there are two models SL27 and SL29

The SL29 can handle greater payloads of about 250 kg more I think it is.

I am sure Ford will have similar options.

There are loads of suppliers of van mount systems, they all do pretty much the same thing and tailor the system to your needs.

It depends on the flow rate, TDS, and water pressure at the place you choose to fill as to which filters you will need. Best thing to do is to measure these and then decide what your requirements are.

Someone with very low TDS will only need a DI Vessel, others in hard water areas with high TDS will need an RO, Prefilters, DI and softener.

I have used 2 different streamline van mounts; the smart tank is pretty good but expensive.

Smartank™ van mounted water tank systems suitable for WFP, window cleaning

Ionics are very good, but extremely expensive.

As you have said, dont go near brodex.

If I wanted to get really fancy and money was no object I'd go for this! (because orange looks so cool)
    Van Systems & Components : X-Tank 500ltr

This is what I eventually went for because I was on a budget:

4040 Water Genie ULP RO Membrane Purification Package Complete

I went for the HF4 4040 RO, DI, 20" prefilters. IF you choose The cleaning warehouse, ask for Adam. He was very good with me, explained what I needed and his technician gave me a couple of pointers with some of the DIY.

If you arent comfortable with DIY, then they also fit systems to vans.

I've just had system fitted by grippatank and I can't fault it. Great friendly service, really good product and crash tested. Would defiantly recommend getting a quote off them.

Im sure their service is excellent as they are connected to gardiners I believe, though I could never part with 3k for a system I could put together for half the price elsewhere!
