Yell

Google, facebook, gumtree, only 3 worth bothering with in my opinion. Facebook you can get a massive return off, can advertise to 1000 people or more for like a tenner. Very good targeting approach too. Can you imagine how long it takes to reach 1000 people canvassing or leaflet dropping? Bloomin days work and the rest like.
be warned though, everyone seems to think they’re John Wayne when they’re on facebook, so price high & look expensive, just to avoid messers. (i cant afford what google & these front page top rank gurus are asking mind, but if you can then it’s worth it)
You’ll be inundated with random advertising calls saying they can do this and that for you...it never ends until they realize you won’t take the bait. Then they stop. Just get emails now

You can set your target audience. Dont advertise to under 25’s. Most people at that age dont own their own property and you’ll have random students ringing you at midnight asking you to go clubbing with them. Trust me, i’ve been there.

Had Yell on the phone with me selling me the possible work they can get me and just wondering if anyone think it's worth paying for.

Just to give my perspective.
I've used yell since I started almost 2 years ago .
I pay 60 to be ranked 3rd across a lot of the county the 2 company's above are in a different town so don't take much work in my town .
As I'm now on a rolling contract I have thought about pulling the plug on it . I stand out from the crowd by having 70 plus reviews to the 2 and 0 reviews of a lot of company's around me.
3 days ago I got a call from my yell add in an area I don't canvass and wouldn't target on facebook first clean £270 .
120 every 2 weeks and 100 every month so on that job alone taking off add spend 340 - 60 for one job from yell .... if you get good reviews it can be a good source of income ... it can be expensive but it could be just one monthly job from it pays for the add so I would look to see who else uses it your area and see of you could stand out .
Happy to answer any questions should you have any .
