If set too low will cause the DE to cut in when you have air in the system.

Is it showing DE straight after flow is stopped?

yes

Then needs turning up to say about 40

No need to calibrate it then. Just check what the setting is tomorrow by holding the + and -. To get out of calibration mode press the return button.

there are no + - buttons on it just up down arrows on it when holding them together nothing happens

when i press the other arrow it shows de then the battery rate then comes up flow and when i presss the arrows it either goes up or down

Hold the up / down together for about 3 seconds for calibration (cal) to show.

Also download page 2 of 2 so you can keep them together for further refrence.
