Hi guys

Not often I come over to the dark side as am a tradder at heart
clear.png

Recently I have been asked to do a few conny roofs, fascias and carports etc and am getting fed up with the grief tradding them with pole etc

Any advice for a cheap as poss trolly/backpack setup would be welcome.

Don't have a clue what I need and was considering a cheap full kit or ebay special

Welcome over here @daveyboy1. I'll do a list later for you. It is so easy doing conny roofs WFP. I did one this morning, including the other plastics on it. I took a steady pace, drank tea, chatted and did it in an hour and a half. Customer said 'wow' and I said 'thank you for your custom.' A nice little earner that was /emoticons/wink.png

I made a trolley based on the thread started by Jimmyboots, already had a trolley in the garage, so bits and pieces only cost about £40-£50. Has paid for itself several times over, really useful bit of kit, especially on conservatories

Ta guys

I can't be arsed with making one.

What I spend will be a tax write off anyway..lol

just want one as cheap as poss

wouldnt waste pure water on that stuff mate. better to rig up a water feed from a customers tap to a tough brush on a pole.

I've got the WCW Big Boy back pack and 22ft pole bundle and have no complaints so far. I don't always use pure in it and it comes in handy when custys doesn't have an outside tap. Bloomin heavy when full though!

Here's what I'd do @daveyboy1. This list is for hooking up to custy's outside tap.

1) Pole, either a Gardiner CLX-22 http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/CL-X-Carbon-Composite-Pole-CLX_22.html or a CLX-27 http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/CL-X-Carbon-Composite-Pole-CLX_27.html if you want to reach high gable ends etc. Choose the free Medium Mixed Dual Trim Sill brush option, wide fan jets, free pole hose, QuicK loQ Resi-Neck and the EZ-Snap Tail.

2) Pole hose, buy the 78' length to be on the safe side £9.70 http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/Telescopic-Pole-Hose-Packs-Hose_Packs.html

3) An adapter to use EZ-Snap on a garden hose http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/Adapter---EZ-Snap----trade-----end-stop-hose-with-a-standard-pole-hose-FIT_ADAPT_EZP_TAP.html. This will connect to your EZ-Snap tail which will be on your long length of pole hose.

4) One John Guest 8mm straight connector http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/Push-Fit-8mm-to-8mm-straight-connector-in-black-PF_8mm_8mm.html. This connects to the short pole hose at the brush.

5) One John Guest 8mm stem to 6mm barb http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/John-Guest-8mm-stem-to-6mm-Barb-PM250806E.html. This connects to the John Guest straight connector and the long length of pole hose.

6) 5L of Virosol http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Viro-Sol-Citrus-Multi-Surface-Cleaner-Degreaser-5L-/221546500290?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item33953350c2. I dilute this at about 5 parts water and 1 part Virosol.

7) 5L pressure sprayer http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-5-8-Litre-GARDEN-WEED-KILLER-CHEMICAL-KNAPSACK-PRESSURE-SPRAYER-KILL-WEEDS-/161240585480?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Garden_Plants_Fertiliser_CV&var=&hash=item258ab01508. I made an extended one using an old pole and stuck the spray nozzle at the end of the pole to get to the crests on connys easily.

8) A set of 5 tread step ladders. These come in handy when there is not much space to work off the ground.

9) A selection of Hozelock fittings, incase they don't have the standard Hozelock on the tap http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HOZELOCK-COMPATIBLE-HOSE-FITTINGS-SPRAY-GUN-WATER-STOP-GARDENING-TAP-OUTDOOR-/121335812398?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Garden_Plants_Bird_Bath_Feeder_CV&var=&hash=item1c402d912e

That's about it I think

This lot might cost you a few quid, but it will make you a few quid too /emoticons/wink.png

Cheers guys
I know it might be a bit mind boggling @daveyboy1, but it really is straight forward. I'd offer to help you with it, but I'm a bit too far north of you to assist. If you buy all of the stuff on that list it will earn you loads, I promise

You'll be a convert before you know it if you do buy the gear /emoticons/smile.png

For the jobs I need it for(plastic car port roof and fascias etc it don't need to be pure so that looks good tuffers

Yeah, just make sure they have an outside tap and you have long length of pole hose. It's the glass conny roofs and no tap that will be a ball ache for you, then you're looking at going down the producing pure route

me always shop at tuffers online...

i dont know much about the back pack route as its really heavy when full but i love me little trolley...18 litres...but really a bigger trolley would be better....unfortunately....a lot of people dont have an outside tap...:gush:

only £90 off ebay....although i doubt the wheels will last forever..

be warned....the force will drag you in.../emoticons/biggrin.png

Wcw backpack very good. Minds been going a 2 years now. Good Handel to carry it. If its cheap yer looking for make a pole from a Harris pole. There's a thread in the DIY section how to do it. It done me for a year. At the end of the day it's the brush which cleans it. Pole just gets you there. I like Ryan also bought the big boy & 22 inch pole combi. That's good value to.

I've got a EXTEND TO WASH 35ltr beast of a trolley and it's a fantastic piece of kit battery last close to a week and I can push it to brim with close to 40 ltr of water and at the low setting I can easily do 4 houses with one fill

Got mine all sign written up and it looks really good

that the one....i would call that the beast....my little 18litres hasnt got the best wheels in the world so not expecting it to last for ever before it becomes my back up...
That's the one cnc /emoticons/smile.png that pic don't do the unit no justice at all it looks cap lol but it isn't /emoticons/smile.png

if customer has a garden tap - then I use very little pure water . To rinse a conservatory roof with pure water take a lot of time and a lot of pure water goes down the drain ...

so i deep a brush in a bucket with soapy water or UBIK - clean everything and hose everything off . when is done just do a quick rinse with pure water

but...i canna remember whether she has a tap..but...i clean next doors...and she should be out...so...i will put in both hosepipes just to be on the safe side...er...i hope she dont come back and catch me and tell me shes on a meter.....cancel that...instead....why not just fill up me backpack from the tap shes hardly likely to catch me than...tomorrow planned...but ...will it work.../emoticons/biggrin.png

Ow man that sounds so similar to me 2 weeks ago , I did a house and she said is my dad's house due cause there on holiday and ill give you there money now , I was chuffed as it wasn't on my list for that day but the neighbour who is never home during the day wanted me to do her conny roof /emoticons/smile.png

So obviously the holiday home had there hose passed next door and I did both houses and a conny roof in about 1 and a half hours, put me on over £70 a hour /emoticons/smile.png
