I really want to make my water in the garage rather than using the ionics system I have in my van(due to the fact I will be getting rid of van when I can afford a newer one).Probably very early next year...

Does anyone on here do this for a living?. k line charge about £1200 for a warm system which I don't think is bad at all.

If not how do you fancy helping me online build my own system from scratch....Come on boys you know you want too.

In my head it sounds simple to set up (as long you can got electric socket in garage) & I reckon you could do it. I would save the water heating for next van system.

I have got electric in garage,

Do you mean warm the water up in the new van? as all in want in the new van is the water really if that is possible. ?. x

Yeah because if you're heating it up in garage system then it's surely going to get cold again in the tank>reel hose.

Your only difficult decision is what RO system to get.

i got mine fitted in garage last year shaz easy all ready had the electric, bought my RO from pure freedom, they was really gd gave me loads of advice. T he RO came fully fitted, next job was water supply.

I bought three water butts from homebase 600 lts total.. the guys here will give you loads of advice gd luck

Will you be filling up the van inside the garage Shaz? Will obviously affect where to put the IBC if so.

Also with IBCs you may have to do some cutting around the lid to get the submersible transfer pump in unless you find right sized one (maybe a Clarke Hippo?)

From your water holding tank, you can get one of these to pump the water to your van tank

Get some of this hose to connect to the pump (the length you need from water tank to tank in van). It is very good hose. Get the 1" diameter.

Then get one of these triggers to fill your van tank with.

I use this gear and the pump really chucks the water out at a good rate. with the 1" diameter hose, you can fill a 500 litre tank in well under 10 minutes.

Hope this helps /emoticons/smile.png

Hi Duncs, which RO unit did you purchase from pure freedom?

I'm not a genius on this but I make my own water outside going into 2 water butts. To do it in the garage must be exactly the same. Outside tap to ro. Out of ro into di ( 1 or twin) straight into the water butt or tank. I would imagine you need a longer hose on the waste pipe to take it back out of the garage into a drain or whatever you do with it. I don't know anything about pumping it out from tank to van. I just fill my backpacks up from water butt. I got a vyair 200gpd which was recommended to me by RC property. You remember him shazzy. It's a very good RO.

Duncs do us a favour and get a pic up of your booster pump please, as i am toying with the idea of getting one for my system
