Wot chems would you put on might try to put some down cheekily I want to do a good job as its a good price and its in a little close all with identical drives

After I had pressure washed it first I would use hypo 15%-20% myself at 1-1 ratio. Let it dwell for about 15 mins then rise it off with a house or pw lance with a black nozzle.

Thanks very much smurf

No probs but I don't think you would get away with that one somehow as it stinks

Could you link that mate? not used any chems up until now but always nice to have something to add to the toolbox.

most concrete jobs that i do now i just pre wet the concrete and any flowerbeds etc then give the treated area a quick scrub with a deck brush ,let it dwell for 20 mins and then rinse off . the results are the same and theres a lot of time energy and petrol saved , thats if you think that its acceptable to the customer. just to add the reason for pre wetting the concrete is because its porous and the hypo will not work as well as it will be soaked into the concrete and not the surface that you want to clean

its industrial strength bleach , or sodium hypochlorite , normally used in treating the water in swimming pools and commonly used by farmers for cleaning milking parlours, if you google your local area you will find a supplier

Yeah I know the stuff, the "hypo" was confusing me I thought it was something different, not had to use any yet but had a really stubbord patio last week that I reckon could of used some chemicals on it.

I did an large area a while back on a very posh place. Not once did I use a pressure washer as just used about 8 x 25ltr 15-20% hypo at 1-1 mix = 400 ltrs instead.

Lets just say it smelt very clean after I had finished /emoticons/biggrin.png

Hi Smurf,

Doing a block paved drive with Oil stains, Question is would Hypo remove it or would you use a Oil remover i.e Resiblock

For oil stains you stand a better chance with an oil stain remover than just using bleach.

I don't specialise in removing oil stains from drives myself and to be honest they can be very difficult to remove completely nor would I promise the customer that I could.

I have tried various oil removers, they kind of work but you can always see where the stain was, I always tell the customer its hardly worth bothering but if you want I can have a go, the only true method to get rid of them is to lift the oil stained blocks and put new ones down.

I've had quite a few frantic calls from garages over the years asking if I would go out to customers houses to remove oil stains off the drive because the cars after servicing came back dripping oil on to the surface.

I have always politely refused this type of job for the obvious reasons mentioned already.
