How Much Would You Charge?

Recommended Posts

I have been asked to quote this restaurant for external cleaning on a 2 weekly basis. Note that the lower windows are not accessible by pole just above the balcony, so the will have to be tradded. The upper windows are flats where the woman with pram is.

I can see why they are looking for another window cleaner as those tops look like a pain in the arse to do. How are you going to get up there for a start and clean them?

I'm also betting they want it done for next to nothing too so did you ask what was the last guy charging as I would have to save wasting my time.

The top and middle glass is reachable with WFP, the small bottom ones will have to be done trad. I would use a ladder to get up there

What would you charge Smurf?

Silly o'clock & hassle having to using ladders on a 2 weekly price I would want to charge at least 100 squid.

I stay clear of shop front as there is no real money in it as everyone is out to undercut everyone else. Plus the added hassle of starting work at silly o'clock and parking etc.

Just my thoughts as I'm sure some are happy to endure the hassle but not me.:D

Thanks, @Tuffers

Do you recon they will go for that price then & do you have other shop fronts to do in that area?

Well, as luck would have it, one of my residential customers works at the wine shop next door to this job and they want me to clean their windows after the council have finished a load of road works outside. I didn't want that job really, but I said yes like a mug. So if I get both it will be ideal .

I might put in a £75 price for the restaurant, unless the consensus on here is go for more. But £75 every 2 weeks is going to put them off I think as they are barterers so I might say £100 every 4 weeks and see if they go for that.

I reckon about the 70mark is reasonable for a 2 weekly, but I doubt a restaurant would want to see 70notes going out of the till every other week. And smufs right about the shop fronts, its a waste of time- too many nob eds quoting silly cheap prices.

I would Just ask straight outright what did they pay the last window cleaner and what budjet do they have to get the job done properly. That way you have a better chance of winning the work if you want it. Also mention you do next door as may help also. :)

I could phone them up and ask I suppose. The thought doesn't enthrall me though as when I spoke to the fella on the phone yesterday I couldn't understand a word he was saying and when he said he wants them cleaned twice a month I said every 2 weeks then and he didn't get the gist :D
