Why pay for a training course...

Found this belter of a photo (attached) on solar-panel-cleaning.com while I can't sleep.

I have cleaned panels and even solar farms with 500+ panels, with no problem at all. I recently was given a new pair of similar gloves by a buddy of mine who is a spark, and has loads lying around his garage. Haven't tried them yet, but will keep them on the van.

Looking at the pole and brush, nothing special as far as I can see, full CF pole, and what looks to be a soft brush. I use a wide sill brush as it gives a mint clean on the panels.

Spot on mate, any rubber gloves from electrical stores will do, and yeah, they don't do anything different to anyone else, basically it's just a gimmick for Steve to make more money and get people working for him, solar panels are 100% water proof, so nothing to worry about, unless they are badly damaged, in which case anyone would be in trouble, weather they've done a course it not!

I believe the bloke in the photo is using a Gardiner Xtreme pole...

I'll fight to keep that. I got into this job so I could wear someone elses brand on my chest....THEY'LL NEVER TAKE IT FROM ME, NEVER I TELL YOU!!!! I'll fight with all my might....hmmm....although the arthritis in my arms from scrubbing all those panels day in day out might slow me down a bit./emoticons/sad.png

I had a job come through from SS yesterday that pays far more than the cost of the training day.

Mock all you like boys. One guy has earned over £10k from us since April. Another has earned over £4k in a month. Both of those figures are more than some of you earn in that timeframe. Oh, don't tell me, you are all on £10k p/m window cleaning aren't you? But that ain't none of my business.

@Jon Grainger if you're awake and on our website at 12:15am, you prove yourself to be both interested in what we do and how we do it. You know there's no better place to find out about solar panel cleaning than our website. I will take whatever follows on this thread as a compliment.

Ah @Solar Steve, how wrong you were! I was actually on holiday in Barbados for a few days, so the time was 7:15pm in the evening. I was sitting in a beachfront bar, drinking a Caipirinha over crushed ice, whilst my wife was having an evening swim.

Funnily enough, that holiday came about because of massive solar panel cleaning contract I secured a few weeks back, for a solar farm. So I surprised my wife with two plane tickets for a week in the sun, on our favourite island, just 8 weeks after we had been on honeymoon.

Here is a photo below, of said evening, taken approx 6:15pm, just so you know I'm not winding you up.

But no, I don't think your website is the best place to find out about solar panel cleaning, because there is nothing of any value on there. Else you wouldn't be charging for a training course

May I say, in all fairness, those prices earned are extremely impressive, well done on getting those contracts.

See from the above post @Jake we REQUEST a date from the subcontractor to suit them.

There is no guarantee of work, but out of the 60-odd people who have attended, all apart from my guy in NI and Scotland have had jobs from us.

And what is average payment like @Solar Steve?

Also when searching solar panel cleaners in my area, my company is one under yours, and I pick up a lot of solar panel work, I also feature first on google maps ranking, so we are effectively sharing 50/50 business, so if I were to collaborate with you, we would effectively almost be guaranteed the work every time. But what would be in it for me? This is the big question, as we get a lot of solar panel work as it is...?

It's really straightforward @Jake . You generate leads through your own site, but get leads from our site as well that are in your area. That's what's in it for you. More work.

But we are not sharing 50/50 more business. On average, my website will get 30% more clicks than yours. That's the latest Google stat for P1 R1 as against P1 R2.

Plus we are a nationally recognised brand now.

Payments we have made to single companies this month have varied from £30.00 to over £4k.

You may well get a lot of solar jobs, but my big question is 'Are you cleaning them safely?' If you have employees or casual labour, it is all the more important. Out of 60+ people who have attended the course, not one has got the health and safety correct. Based on that, I'm guessing you don't either. That's a big difference between us and other companies too.

Solarsteve, you said out of 60 people on your course no-one has got the health and safety right. How do you know you have? I mean who trained you, is there some kind of solar panel cleaning certification or was it the manufacturers or someone else?
