Another Clean Window

Been asked to pressure wash this

f6892db96fbc843dd5ce7f1ad9f9c816.jpg

The only way I can think best is a cherry picker and pressure washer, either that or spray with hypo then brush and rinse with water fed pole.

What do you guys think?

I don't have a cherry picker ticket or a decent pressure washer with long enough hoses so I don't think I can do the job, as of yet I can only spray up to 20ft and brush up to 26ft so really don't think I can do the job

If there is anyone in Poole that wants the job let me know and I'll forward your details on to them.

Job to be complete by 9th December

Cheers

I've never cleaned anything like that but can't you just wfp it? My local cinema is made from the same stuff. I sat and watched two guys wfp it a few weeks back.

Way to cheap should be at least £300 , materials, water , cleaning out of hours so as not to get in the way of customers , we do lots of this type of work Ime sure it will look really good when done makes all the difference to the customers property don't under sell yourself , your pole may well reach if not put hypo through your longest pole and brush it on rather than spray it from a back pack , rinse down with there tap if there is one on site to save pure , finish off with doing the glass with pure charge accordingly , don't want to be rude but you need to increase your day rate price

Thanks for your input, yeah your probably right about needing to increase my day rate, £120 a day matches what I earn scaffolding so that's my target day rate at the moment but that doesn't take into account the money I spend on advertising and all my running costs. Just starting out though so not got much of a client base, especially not clients that would be willing to pay £300+ for my day, the looks I've had when I've quoted £150 for a day's work, don't get me wrong I've had a couple of well paid jobs but the amount of work I'm quoting and not getting I'm starting to think I'm too expensive.

Quoted £80 for gutter clearance and fsg clean and first clean on Windows on and end of terrace 3 bed house, went in cheap to get the repeat window cleaning at £15 every 6 weeks. Customer seemed happy and told me she would call me back when she has arranged a good day, that was two weeks ago, went passed the other day and it's all been done. Meanwhile another lady was over the moon to pay me £95 just to vac out the gutters on two sides of her house, it's hard trying to price jobs how I want when there are so many other cheaper people operating in the area.

I've got 25L of 15% hypo with a pressure spray bottle and a 16ft telescopic spray lance, should be able to get a ladder onto the lower canopy and reach most of the front of the building, then just use the wfp from the ground to wash it all down

You need to earn more than £120 for that type of work you should be able to earn that cleaning windows in a morning without working to hard , if you are just starting out it's going to take time to get established and a good name but recommendations will come , with some company's if you go in to cheap they will think you arnt professional if to high you won't get it either it's a fine line pricing commercial work ,don't tell them my day rate is xxx just give them a price for the job work it out by how many hours it will take at the amount you want to earn per hour being self employed cleaning windows I would think most would want a minimum of £30 per hour , and that's repeat work , for jobs like you have posted it's a one off specialist work and harder than cleaning windows don't undersell yourself , also take into account no pay when on holiday , rained off days , etc so you need to earn considerably more than being payed employed . My guess is that your costs for that job will be approx hypo £15 maybe virosol/tfr £15 water £10 +fuel so your expenses are £40 leaving you with £80 that's only £10 per hour max you could earn that being employed without the hassle of being self employed , please don't think Ime having a go at you , but as I say you are worth a lot more than that good luck with the job view it as a learning curve and move forward

That's not a wfp job

£5/600 for that Pressure washing inc cladding at both sides

you could hire a man and a MEWP he drives and you do the cleaning so don't need IPAF

Or You could sub it out and work alongside someone who has the correct equipment be good experience

Why not ??? I do lots like this every year with wfp comes up perfect you don't need a pressurewasher on that type of cladding , you could do it with pressurewasher but unless you hypo it the green algy will be back in a very short time . I have regular repeat contracts of this type of work and the building owners insist that it isn't pressurewashed due to the possibility of damaging the surface and water Ingress , all that can be cleaned easily from the ground by wfp no need for expensive cherry picker , makes life a lot easier and quicker , and more cost effective for the customer , from what the op had shown in the picture it's only half a days work or may be slightly more

Well we been steaming them off picker - how's he gonna clean that white canopy with a pole ?

Well there's a result, I don't need to clean the canopy on the roof, just the cladding and lower canopy above the door.

On the ground around the footing of the building there are mesh grids so chemicals will wash straight into there so there should be minimal mess in the car park.

I've decided I'm going to invest in a 60ft pole (overkill I know but might need it further down the line) and source a pump suitable for pumping hypo, I'll then pump hypo solution from barrels through the 60ft pole while agitating it with the brush, that way I can just use tap water in the barrels to rinse and pure to clean the glass at the end, I'll be able to use the same setup then for fsg jobs instead of wasting pure all the time

The way I did the one local to me was to use a 35 foot pole with a 24 inch goose neck you could do the canopy from the ground not the easiest of jobs I admit but did it ok , other options are spray it with hypo and just rinse it , spray with algoclear pro and let nature take its cause , or scaffold tower if you want to get up close and personal, most of the building owners down my way will not let you pressure wash this type of building due to water leaks and surface damage , they asked me if I could do it with the pole we now do quite a few on the same retail park this way as they say it's there preferd method of cleaning , we now have contracts in place for 6 years so are very happy . Pity really as I like pressure washing !!!!
