Patio cleaning block paving.

Hi , can anyone recommend how to clean a block patio and then to protect it?

Iwas told to pressure wash it leave for 7days add kiln sand and some kind of protection but what is the protection and how do i apply it?

Firstly you need to give a good deep clean. Get at least 1/4 of gunk and weeds out of the gaps between the sand.

Once dry refill all the gaps with KDS (kiln dried sand)

No need to wait 7 days just until dry.

Next you need to decide between matt, silk or gloss finish for the sealant

This can be applied with either a sprayer or brushes and roller. For the best finish 2 coats is needed.

Just google block paving sealants as there are many out there so have a browse before deciding.

Cleaning, sanding (rejointing) and sealing any drive or patio is time consuming and can be costly on materials so be sure you quote accordingly.

You need to know how many square meters of area to be cleaned.

How many sq meters one bag of KDS will cover and how many sq meters on liter of sealant will cover. Then you can move forward.
