Running gutter vac

What type of inverter would I need to run a 3000w vac from my van battery someone told me to get a 4000w inverter 12v to 120dc

Just by a 4 stroke petrol generator, gives you more flexibility for a few hundred quid 

The reason you were suggested 4000w is because the power draw is greater both when it starts and when strained e.g. a big lump of grass sod. So, a 3000w wouldn't be enough. When I looked some time ago, it was cheaper to buy a generator for that level of power.

Just start it running one vacuum.

I have a gen in the back of my van and I never use it always hook on to the customers. 

So what gen would run a 3000w gutter vac

Think the 2.2KVA would do as well as you only start one 1 motor at a time and it's the initial surge that uses the most power. 

To run my omnivac 3600 watt I have a 5.5 kva  genny
