A Couple of Sealing Questions

I have a couple of questions for you sealing experts!

1. I have heard that you seal clay blocks differently to concrete blocks, what is the difference?

2. Sealed under a car porch a couple of weeks ago but some of the blocks must have still been wet as the sealant has gone opaque, has anyone had any experience with sorting this sort of problem?

1. It depends on the sealant rather than the blocks. Some are only designed for concrete - which is what most of them are made of.

So you have to be more careful with clay but if you use a suitable sealer you deal with them the same way as you normally would.

Resiblock MATT and TRADE are suitable for both.

2. Try some baking soda mixed with water - fairly strong solution. Leave for a few mins then scrub with a wire brush. If needs be repeat with stronger mix and leave it on for longer before scrubbing.
