Hi , I've just opened my RO Filter and it seems Pure Freedom haven't included the attachment I need to attach to the hose . Picture below , is this something I can buy?

What else would have been included in the fittings back?

Thanks

Why not speak to PF and ask them for the fitting you need?

I don't know for sure but I imagine that this fitting wouldn't be part of the r/o you ordered as there are numerous ways of plumbing them in all with different fittings.

They are different to the windscreen wipers we buy that come with a selection of clips to suit many different wiper arm attachments and throw away the ones you don't want or use.

because it's Sunday they are closed , no it definately should come with it as it is on all the pictures . Thanks for your input

Depending what size port that is you can purchase a reducer from Srewfix and tap fitting from B&Q. Tap fitting is 1/2" so you need a reducer 1/2" to the whatever inch port that is

Thanks mate , I might just wait until tomorrow and contact pure freedom as they said I'd have absolutely everything I need to get up and running so they can send it.

Has anyone bought an RO Filter from Pure Freedom and did It come with the attachment I'm after? Thanks

Looks like the one I bought from them 10 years ago and yes it came with everything needed to plumb it in. Mine had a blue screw in fitting with some ptfe tape. My garden hose then fitted to that with a jubilee clamp.

Call them tomorrow. I've always found them very helpful in the past.

Yes that's exactly what I need , I will call them as they were very helpful when I spoke to them previously , I'm sure they'll send next day . Cheers

Yeah I'm just impatient mate , wanted to get it up and running today but decided to wait.

Cheers Spruce

Patience is what you need in this game tbh. :1f603:

Most stuff we use is specialist and only available from specialist wfp suppliers. I learnt in the early days that you can't promise anything to your customer until you have everything up and running. Things just never seem to work out the way you would like them to.

I don't know what tds your incoming water is from your tap or what equipment you ordered, but if you don't mind me asking, what di vessel have you got for polishing the water off?

Have you also got some decent resin? PF are selling a Tulson spin off atm as resin is in short supply.

Yes I can see that haha ,

Luckily I've only got one job on Wednesday that actually requires WFP however I hope to be up and running by then.

I've got this and they sent me a bag of resin with the order but not sure what type it is , how often do you have to change resin if water is very hard? cheers

Depends how effective your ro is. Generally it will remove 98% so, 300ppm tap water will come out around 6ppm if you are lucky. So the resin will last longer just removing those final few impurities. you need to monitor the water when you fill up, and want to keep the TDS below 5ppm, so resin will need changing when it hits that number.

I honestly think you will need a bigger di vessel - one that holds around 6 or 7 liters of resin. At 6ppm those tiny canisters of resin won't last long.

I use a 7l one with approx 5l of resin in, my Ro spits it out at 7or8ppm, and it polishes around 17000l before it reaches 5ppm, so is conveniently timed to change the resin and prefilters at the same time...

I used to have one of these tiny  (0.7litre) DI vessels. My tap water is similarly hard and within a day the resin was only taking it down to 3ppm. I quickly bought 2x7 litre vessels and now resin gets changed every couple of months.

Kelsey if you cant wait for PF sending the part nip into your local plumb centre they will have every fitting you desire.
Hope this helps

Hopefully he should get his missing part today.

The next thing he is going to find is how slow these r/o's produce water, so I hope he will have enough produced to do his job tomorrow.

Thanks all , really appreciated .

Im all up and running now and have pure water ready to use tomorrow for my first WFP job.

I will monitor the water and i will probably invest in a bigger vessel soon , how much am i looking at spending?

any tips for the first time using my pole? I have an SLX 30 and i have a medium hard brush with pencil jets and a flocked sill brush with fan jets.

thanks again
