Preparing to wire up trolley, everything ok?

Here's a quick diagram of how I think it should be wired up, is there anything wrong with it?

Be brutal, because I'm a complete rookie

Looks fine to me, nice drawing!

Remember to use the proper gauge wire and have secure connections everywhere.

Personally I use a double pole switch from the battery so it kills both the positive and negative lead when off.

I have added a switch to bypass the remote on my system, in case the remote battery dies. Not had an issue with it yet, so it's entirely optional.

I've added a principle sketch I made a year ago. The idea is the same as with a latching switch setup in your house.

I may add that feature on in the future, thanks for the diagram. Where would the flow controller go in that set up?

As for connections, I have some wagos but they're all with 3 connections, can I use these with an empty port or does that mess things up...

Wagos are great. Yes they are totally fine with empty ports.

That looks fine to me!

The connection of three wires to the output of the dpst switch can be a bit tricky, just make sure it's properly seated and not loose. Or move the voltmeter to the connections with the remote.

My plan with DPST switch is to connect to switch with crimp, run to 5 conductor wago, which will give me the 3 outputs I need.

Will that work?

Absolutely, that'll work just fine.

Be careful to leave the connections out of the way of any water of course. You can get some fancy waterproof junction boxes off eBay and elsewhere, but a plastic tub works just as fine.

But first get it up and running, you can always refine it down the road. I'm planning to do a new, third version for my van.

Yes using a junction box, trying to make something very similar to jimmyboots trolly. Just the electrics I had no clue about, but now feel much more confident it'll wire up and work. Thanks for your help mate [emoji106]

Is the SPDT switch you use in the diagram an "on-off-on" type or just a on-off type? Thanks
It's an on-on type, also called double throw (DT). Meaning it switches between the two outer terminals.

And on-off-on type will also work, but the centre off position is superfluous in this use case.

I had no clue what all this "DPST" or "SPDT" meant, but I recommend googling the different type of switches and learning how they work, that's what I did and once I understood it helped tremendously.

One thing the pdf doesn't mention is the difference between a momentary and latching switch.

Momentary switches spring back to off position - which we don't want in this use case - and are often (on eBay at least) labelled with parentheses like (on)-off-(on) in the case off a SPDT switch with a centre off position. If in doubt ask the seller if the item is latching or momentary.
