What do you find is the best wat to insulate a 500ltr baffled tank. Also using a immersion heater throughout the night will it keep the water warm to use throughout the day. Thanks

I've seen people use polystyrene, or different kind of insulation mats which I guess are also used in some air condition duct system?

If it'll keep warm depends on how much you heat it up, and how cold it is outside; impossible to tell precisely. It'll probably work ok, but you'll loose a lot of heat to nothing.

How about using something like this?

I'm guessing that you could cut it into sections to wrap around the tank and secure it with a good-quality duct tape. Remember to insulate the underside as well.

An immersion heater would work very well; possibly too well and get the water hotter than you need it to be. There are some other threads on here about immersion heaters.
