Pimped my gutter vac wheels

Recommended Posts

Moor

After my last gutter job, the first I have had to do with a gravel drive, I decided my tiny vac wheels needed to be changed.

After a bit of eBay shopping here’s the result. Much better movement but I hadn’t quite appreciated the extra width, it only just fits in the van!

Compared to the old wheels, a big difference!

Love them.[emoji106][emoji106]
I lost my rear wheels years a go and battled on with just the front tiny wheels.
Fixed it on to a stack truck in the end.[emoji16]

I had thought the same, can’t see it happening often but it’s definitely a  possibility.  I will just have to do what I used to do when I came across gravel, take the motor unit out and carry it in 2 parts.

I will try and see if I can cut the base unit a bit to shorten the width but I’m not sure it’s possible due to the handle placement.

Sorry mate didn't see your post, the bits I used are;

Pair of wheels

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-10-Pneumatic-Sack-Truck-Trolley-Wheel-Barrow-Tyre-Tyres-Wheels-4-10-3-5-4-0/301965672068?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

The wheels suit a 16mm axle so I used a 16mm threaded rod, I chose the option that came with 2 hex nuts?connectors to use as spacers

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fully-Threaded-1000-mm-Rod-BZP-Mild-Steel-Zinc-Plated-All-Thread-Studding-Bar/152505690373?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=451858073746&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

My current axle is 20mm so i got some reduce bushings so i could use the original fixing points

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wheelbarrow-Wheel-Bush-Axle-Reducer-61mm-long-x-20mm-Outside-reduced-to-16mm/282430611584?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

16mm nuts to lock the bushing in place

16mm washers

16mm nyloc nuts for each end to lock everything in place

The second picture shows the order of how I put it all together, hope that helps.

Yeah mate so should be easy to sort out thanks to you. The current wheels are rubbish on anything but concrete/brick paving
