I use a suction lifter/pad when you have glass under the ladder to stick it to. Strap it to a ladder rung and through the pad. I’d also invest in a microlight stand-off - that will keep you off the gutter and stop the top from slipping. Looking at the angle of your ladder I’d be saying you need to be more upright, the larger the angle of the ladder the more chance the ladder is to lever up. You have the ladder m8trix which will stop the ladder slipping at the bottom so your on the right track

use a ladder stay onto the facia or onto the slates but if on to the slates pad out the stay with foam pipe lagging it stops sideways movement (plus if the facia is white it will not leave marks on the facia
Interesting idea. Never heard of it before. I would have thought it could damage the glass, but I guess the sliding ladder won't have built up enough speed of movement to do that and anyhow there's no price on our safety.Microlight will stop all top movement, coupled with the ladder m8trix it’s an unbeatable combo in my opinion.
I use the suction ‘pad’ when I have to get the ladder at a high angle. I brought the suction lifter from Screwfix, they do a two and three pad version
I use it through a rung on my ladder with a tie down strap
