What’s your PPM before DI

Recommended Posts

GGCleaningServices

I know it’s been asked before by others as I did do a search tonight but I was wondering if it would be a good idea to have a thread dedicated to everyone’s readings.

This could help others to find a ball park figure for their readings, or what to expect before purchasing a new membrane.

Remember to include the following:

•Size and and make of membrane.

•PSI (boosted or not boosted)

•PPM going in, PPM coming out.

•Location.

Il start...

•Axeon HF5 4040

•43PSI Not Boosted,

•357 PPM IN - 019 PPM Out (before di)

•Romford Essex.

About 7 when I change filters, it's up to about 15 now so I should probably change them soon.

No idea what psi or filters but tap tds fluctuates between about 120-200 but typically 150 ish.

Same but a 300gpd sometimes 7 sometimes 9 I think it depends on the pressure from the mains.  Calibrated TDS at 000 out of the DI and if it creeps to 001 it gets changed ASAP.

Here goes with the highest tap reading so far, from woodbridge near ipswich.

Tap between 510 to 530

40 21 RO with axeon membrane (forget which, the one for low pressure I think)

pressure, about 50 to 55

out of RO 13 to 14, which is great from that horrendous tap reading.

Out of di, usually 0, but 1 now and then as resin gradually weakens.

75ppm out of tap so DI only. Highest I have ever measured was 1500ppm from a natural (bore hole) supply. The TDS meter read 150 with a little "x10" in the top corner!![emoji44]

When we had our konnetico water softener fitted to the house, the geezer who fitted it said that our water (Thames water) was the second highest tap reading in the country after the water in the east of England, so that makes sense what you’ve said

Axeon HF5 4040

42PSI Not Boosted,

389 PPM IN - 020/022 PPM Out (before di)

Basildon Essex.

Does anyone have any experience with the HF5 4040 here?

I feel like my PPM is a little high considering I am getting 42PSI from my tap, does it seem high to anyone else?

Thanks

ECEEssex - Your membrane is performing at around 94% so it’s not great. What you need to remember is - even though you have a low pressure membrane - the optimum pressure range will still be 80 psi plus. At 98% the TDS would be 7ppm so you would save on resin. The only other thing you could consider is adding a water softener to your system - not sure whether it would achieve all that much though!?!?
